Paua is a famous and unique seafood in New Zealand. It is a pure wild and zero-pollution.

New Zealand is a rare and pure wild abalone growing area in the world. The clear cold sea water and natural seaweed provide an excellent ecology for the growth and reproduction of abalone.

The meat and shell of this kind of black abalone are very popular among New Zealanders, and they are called Black Gold by the locals.

Paua meat is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins A, E, B12 and minerals such as selenium, zinc, iodine, magnesium, etc. It has excellent repairing and nourishing effects for weak people.

Compared with other abalone species, Paua has a large meat and thin shell. The average weight of each abalone is about 600 grams. Abalone meat can account for 50% of the weight, and abalone belly can account for 20%.

New Zealand Paua hss firm flesh with a very distinct flavour, it is oceanic and salty but well-balanced with a sweet and buttery taste. Different from other abalone, it is soft and smooth, but also firm and chewy. You may cook in different ways or roasted on the barbecue.
